[Any Version Forum] How to change the registration rules

Post by Mases on Sun Mar 09, 2014 12:50 am

This trick will give you the option of editing your forum registration rules however you please. Please follow the step carefully and contact me directly if you stumble across any erros. Without further adieu, lets get to the tutorial:

Step 1:
Go to ACP > Display > Colors > CSS Style Sheet

and paste this code:

a.mainmenu[href="/register"] {
    display: none !important;

Step 2:
Go to ACP > Modules > HTML Page Management > Create in advanced HTML

Put the following:
Title: Register
Do you wish to use your forum header and footer ?: Yes
Use this page as homepage ?: No

and put the following code in the body section:

RULES GO HERE<br /><br />
    <button onclick="location.href='/register?agreed=true&step=2'">   I agree to these terms   </button><br /><br /><br /><button onclick="location.href='/'">   I do not agree to these terms   </button>

you can change the RULES GO HERE in the above code to the wanted text for the rules.

One you click submit, the page link will appear in the list of HTML pages created. Copy and save that somewhere for later.

Step 3:
Go to ACP > Display > Headers and Navigation > Add a customized menu

Menu: Register
Picture: [The same picture URL you used for register button]
Text: Register
Redirect URL: [type the following: /h#-register but make sure to change the # to the page number of the register HTML page you created]
Display: Check only for Guests

Click Submit.
You can use the ^ icon in the Headers and Navigations tab to decide where you want the register button to appear.
